Wellington Breakfast Meeting

Our speaker for this meeting, Tim Castle, will give a presentation on Sports Disputes Resolution with a particular eye on the Olympics.

Tim Castle has a wealth of experience in Sports Law and Sports Disputes. He has been a member of the International Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) since 1991, and he was New Zealands first representative on the International Cricket Councils Corruption Commission and Appeals Commission. Since 2003, he has been a member of the New Zealand Sports Tribunal. Previously, (1994-2000) Mr. Castle was chairman of the New Zealand Olympic Committee and a member of the board of the New Zealand Sports Foundation.

Mr. Castle currently holds the position of Barrister Sole at Capital Chambers and has been Barrister sole since 1989. He was Chairman of the Prime Minister's 2000 Taskforce and he was appointed by Clerk of House of Representatives as an Independent Specialist Adviser to Parliamentary Select Committees on Maori Fisheries Act 2004 and Foreshore and Seabed Act 2004. Mr Castle is also a Treaty negotiator for Iwi and a member of the Waitangi Tribunal since 2008.
