Professional Experience

Sherwyn Williams was previously a partner in, and is now a consultant with, Kensington Swan in Auckland. He has specialised in construction law for over30 years, principally in the areas of claims and dispute resolution.

Career Summary

He has appeared as counsel in numerous court and arbitration cases (including international and multi-million dollar arbitrations), and has also acted as an arbitrator and an adjudicator on numerous occasions. He is a member of AMINZ's panel of arbitrators and its list of adjudicators, and was a member of the AMINZ committee responsible for the drafting of the Arbitration Appeal Tribunal Rules. He is President of the New Zealand Society of Construction Law.

He is the author of the chapter on Construction Arbitrations in Green & Hunt on Arbitration Law and Practice, and of numerousarticles on construction law in various other publications.
