Conference Information

Who Should Attend?

If you are interested in dispute resolution, you should be at this conference-the only national alternative dispute resolution conference held annually.  Whether you have a general interest, or are interested a specific field, this conference will be for you.  With concurrent streams of mediation, arbitration / adjudication and general business plus great social events conference will provide you with ways to grow your knowledge, grow your business and, grow your networks.

 

Conference Venue

Conference this year is held at the National Museum- Te Papa.  Any events not at Te Papa are listed in the programme accordingly.

 

 

The AMINZ Forum

You must be a member to attend the Forum.  Bring whatever issues you have about the Institute to the Forum.  Maybe there is something we could be doing better, something that is annoying you or maybe you just want us to do more of something good.  Tell us at the Forum.

 

The Newbies Function:  Meet the Institute at the Institute

It is often daunting to front up to an event that you haven't been to before.   We want you to feel very welcome at any AMINZ event so if you are new to Conference please be our guest at the Institute.  We will introduce you to our staff and Councillors, give you something to eat and drink and then we'll all go to the launch of Conference at Parliament together. 

 

Opening at Parliament

We will assume you are attending the launch at Parliament if you are registered for conference.  You must be registered to attend, for security reasons.  If you wish to bring a partner or friend, please contact us.  (There will be a nominal charge for this). We are generously hosted at this event by Hon Chris Finlayson MP, Attorney-General, Minister for Treaty of Waitangi Negotiations Minister for Arts, Culture & Heritage.

 

 

The Inaugural Fellows' Breakfast

If you are a Fellow, you are invited to this breakfast to be hosted by our President- David Carden and Vice President- Ann Edge.  There is no charge for this breakfast-it is our way of recognising the most senior members of the Institute.  Partners of Fellows may also attend, but there is a charge for their attendance.

 

What are Buzz Groups?

Buzz groups are half hour sessions that will allow you to have a closer interaction with the presenter.  There will a number of sessions happening at one time-so a lot of buzz and choice.  You do not book into any session-they operate on a limited number of places at each session, with the first seated getting to be a part of that session.

 

The Grand Finale

Don't leave early!  We are planning a very special tribute and wind-up at the end of conference.  You will not want to miss this!

 

The Conference Junkies Dinner

This dinner is organised for those who just want conference to keep going.  Our special guest Andy Little will be at the dinner, which is an informal gathering.  We have suggested that the participants may want to talk about mediation in the Family Court.
