Denise has practiced law for over twenty years primarily in Family and Employment Law. She was an associate and later a partner in the firm of Maude & Miller from 1993 to 1998 and then established her own practice, The Law Store in Porirua until she sold it in 2006. Denise has appeared in the High, District and Family Courts as well as numerous specialist tribunals including the employment tribunal and ERA.  Denise now practises as a mediator in addition to maintaining her interest in employment law and family matters. Denise has a special interest in work place conflict resolution using transformative mediation techniques.  Recent travels have included a trip to South Africa spending time at Cape Town University looking at the Truth & Reconciliation Commission influences on dispute resolution in South Africa and in South America which included walking the Inca Trail and looking at dispute resolution practices in Peru and Brazil.
