Mary has been a contract mediator with Christchurch DRSL since 2006 following working in the Family Court Mediation Pilot. She is a Mediation Panel Associate Member of the Arbitrators and Mediator Institute of NZ. After obtaining a Diploma in Human Resources and while working as a consultant, she went on to obtain a Certificate of Proficiency in labour law at Canterbury University and from there completed mediation training programs from New Zealand, Australia, USA and Britain. She mediates and negotiates for businesses, community groups and individuals in a private capacity as well as working for DRSL and has been a volunteer for the Community Law Centre in their employment and mediation service since 1998.
