Terry Sissons is a barrister and arbitrator based in Wellington. His practice involves a wide range of civil and commercial litigation and arbitration.
Terry commenced legal practice in 1972 and was a partner in
two law firms, most recently with Simpson Grierson from 1992 to
2002, before becoming a barrister in 2002. He became a fellow
of the Institute in 1991, being awarded the Sir Ronald Davison
prize for excellence in award writing. Terry is a co-author of
Equity & Trusts in New Zealand (Brookers Wellington 2003)
and a regular faculty member of the NZLS advanced litigation
skills and expert witness programmes.
Terry is on the Institute's panel of arbitrators and is a
member of its council. He is also an AMINZ fellowship tutor and
assessor. He is the Wellington vice-president of New Zealand
Bar Association.
