Anna Kirk on ADR and Insolvency Law – New Possibilities for Arbitration and Mediation
Over the past few years AMINZ has promoted the use of arbitration in new and interesting areas of law. Anna will discuss the possibility of extending arbitration and mediation to another new area – insolvency law. There is a growing movement, both internationally and in New Zealand, to include alternative dispute resolution mechanisms within the insolvency process. The aim is to make the process more efficient and effective.
Anna will provide an overview of this movement and the rationale behind it. She will then discuss the opportunities that may exist in New Zealand for this growing area of ADR.
Anna is a member of Bankside Chambers, specialising in commercial and investment arbitration. She is a Fellow of AMINZ (Arb) and has over a decade of experience working in arbitration and, more recently, adjudication.
