Roundtable Discussion about the idea of Alternative Environmental Justice in the Bay
This discussion is aimed at furthering the idea of leading the introduction of Alternative Environmental Justice in the wider Bay of Plenty area. The development of Alternative Environmental Justice (AEJ) as a dispute resolution option has been driven by Environment Canterbury’s Monitoring and Compliance Section. Largely to fill a gap in the toolbox where the offence requires a stronger response than an infringement notice but perhaps falls short of the threshold where the person responsible deserves a criminal record. Michelle Urquhart will facilitate the discussions, and Sharon Stewart from Out of Court will provide insight and assistance from her restorative justice experience. Resources for you to read ahead of the meeting can be found HERE and in the attached document.
