Career Summary

Before going to the Bar in 2000 I was a partner at the specialist IP firm Baldwins. I am President and a member of the management board of the Intellectual Property Society of Australia and New Zealand (IPSANZ). I am an immediate past council member of the Legal Practice Division of the International Bar Association (IBA) and past co chair of the Intellectual Property and Entertainment Law Committee of the IBA. I am the convenor of the Intellectual Property working group of the New Zealand Law Society and past convenor of the Technology and Law Committee of the Auckland District Law Society. I have for some years been a member of the Electronic Commerce Sub Committee of the New Zealand Law Society and was a previous convenor of the Legislation Committee of the Institute of Patent Attorneys.


I have acted as counsel in a number of arbitrations and mediations. I have also acted as counsel in a number of major IP cases and handled diverse technologies and aspects of IP. I am a panelist on the WIPO, the National Arbitration Forum and the New Zealand Domain Name Resolution Service panels of neutrals and have decided a number of domain name cases.
