Robert Brace

Present Position

Lawyer and Mediator

Professional Experience

I am a barrister and solicitor with a general practice in Porirua City, supporting clients across a broad spectrum from the Kapiti Coast, Porirua and Wellington. My practice includes all property work (residential and commercial), estates, wills and powers of attorney. I am also regularly Court appointed as lawyer for children, lawyer to assist the Court and lawyer for people with disabilities under the Protection of Personal and Property Rights Act 2008 (PPPR Act).

Since 2009 I have been an associate member of AMINZ practising as a mediator. I have undertaken over 150 mediations involving child arrangements and property division. I also undertake round table conferences in my capacity as lawyer for children, and as lawyer appointed to represent the subject person under the PPPR Act 2008

Speciality Areas

When people converse together (talking and listening) in a safe and structured environment they can very often find their own solutions to their own issues. It is always a privilege to join them on that journey as a mediator.

I have chaired a local high school board, a national trust assisting people with disabilities, and a local charitable community organisation. My wife and I have three adult children and I enjoy trout fishing, golf and am a member of a local community church.

LLB from Victoria University; Post Graduate Diploma of Christian Studies from Regent College UBC Vancouver; Graduate Diploma in Business Studies in Dispute Resolution (Massey). I was awarded the AMINZ Gold Medal for the best Diploma student in 2009.
