Richard Lewis

Background

Originally from England, I am a qualified social worker with extensive experience of in working with families and young people, and in the criminal justice field.

I spent much of my career as a Probation Officer in England, and Senior Probation Officer in Christchurch. I specialized in family violence issues and worked as a facilitator for Stopping Violence Services. I also facilitated Strengthening Families meetings, and have significant experience in working with addictions or harmful behaviour patterns.

I was a member of the New Zealand Parole Board for 10 years before training as a mediator, and currently work in the field of employment investigations as well as family mediation. I have a strong personal commitment to child welfare, and in helping families reach the the best possible outcomes when times are difficult.
