Career Summary

  • I have a professional background in social work graduating from Massey University in 1986 and later returning to complete a Post Graduate Diploma in Business Studies (dispute resolution)
  • I am a Fellow of both the Arbitrators' and Mediators' Institute of New Zealand (FAMINZ (Med)) and Resolution Institute (RI) although I resigned from RI in 2018. I am on the AMINZ Mediation Panel of mediators and sit on AMINZ Council (elected 2014)
  • I mediate and facilitate disputes in the areas of family, elder, workplace and community. I present and teach on a number of dispute resolution topics throughout NZ, and in Australia, PNG, Hawaii, the U.S and Thailand
  • I provide a mentoring/workplace supervision service to mediators and to individuals working in organisations around issues of mediation process and skills, communication, negotiation, giving and receiving feedback, high conflict personality, conflict resolution and prevention, anger and emotion, giving and receiving feedback, workplace issues of toxicity

I was named by the National Business Review (July 2014) as in the top ten family mediators in New Zealand and awarded the AMINZ Ann Edge Memorial Award for Excellence in Fellowship Mediation (2014).
