Rob applies knowledge and insights - gained from some 40 years experience in design, construction supervision, contracts administration, engineer-to-contract, project management, and dispute resolution, across a wide range of engineering and construction projects - to deliver expert analysis of construction disputes and preparation of clearly reasoned determinations.

Rob is also a Member of the International Chamber of Commerce NZ International Arbitration Committee - the only non-legal member.

Project management and contract management for building and engineering projects, including projects in excess of $100m.

Career Summary

Structural engineering including low rise and high rise buildings, and offshore oil platforms. Construction and project management experience in heavy civil engineering [including tunnels, dams, canals, roading,bridging, pipelines - water, wastewater, gas, petroleum - and water related structures] and buildings [including residential, hospital facilities, shopping malls, and prisons].

Appointments

Multiple dispute resolution appointments as arbitrator, mediator, adjudicator, dispute board member, dispute neutral and independent expert on engineering and construction disputes. Experience with various conditions of contract including the NZS 391x series, NZIA, Master Builders, and FIDIC. Experinece includes most contract types, including P&G plus Margin, and alliances.
