ICCA conference agreement signed
A planning agreement has now been signed for the local hosting what will be the decade’s most-important international arbitration conference held in this region.
The latest development follows AMINZ and the Australian Centre for International Commercial Arbitration, or ACICA, securing conference hosting rights for the International Congress for Commercial Arbitration, or ICCA, in 2018.
The gathering will see the leaders in international arbitration convene in Sydney and Queenstown.
It is one of a number of recent AMINZ initiatives to internationally promote New Zealand’s strength in the world of arbitration.
The agreement includes recognition of AMINZ as a co-host of the Sydney event, support by the two organisations of both the Sydney and Queenstown events, and promotion of regional arbitration.
The agreement was signed by AMINZ President, David Patten and ACICA President, Alex Baykitch. It followed a meeting of the ICCA Organising Committee in Auckland, whose New Zealand members are John Walton (vice chair), David Williams, Daniel Kalderimis, David Kreider and Deborah Hart.
