AMINZ and NZIAC Shortlisted for 2030 ICCA Congress Host
We are delighted to announce that AMINZ, together with the New Zealand International Arbitration Centre (NZIAC), have been selected as prospective co-hosts for the International Council for Commercial Arbitration (ICCA) Congress in 2030.
ICCA is a global NGO dedicated to promoting the use of, and improving processes for, arbitration, conciliation, and other forms of international dispute resolution. It is led by an international Governing Board of 41 prominent dispute resolution specialists.
ICCA Congresses contribute to the growth and strengthening of international arbitration in their host countries. The next two Congresses will be held in Madrid (12–15 April 2026) and San Francisco (7–10 May 2028).
“We are really excited for the opportunity to be putting Auckland forward for this world-leading event,” says AMINZ Vice President Dr Anna Kirk.
AMINZ and NZIAC are bidding to host the XXIXth ICCA Congress in Tāmaki Makaurau Auckland. Auckland is one of ten international cities invited to submit a bid.
Achieving pre-qualification highlights Auckland’s strengthening position and growing recognition as an international arbitration centre.
“We are pleased to advance this bid that showcases New Zealand’s reputation as a trusted centre for international arbitration,” says NZIAC Executive Director Catherine Green.
AMINZ and NZIAC look forward to the next step in the application process, with the final bid submission due in March 2026.
