How does AMINZ appoint?

AMINZ has been named in various contracts and legislations as the body for appointing a professional for dispute resolution. We ensure that every appointment is made independently, expertly, and efficiently.

Fee for Appointment

The fee for AMINZ to make an appointment on your behalf is $575.00 inc GST.

How to Request an Appointment

Please fill out the form below and email supporting attachments to institute@aminz.org.nz and use the parties’ names as a reference.

Most appointments are made within five working days.

If you have an agreement which refers to AMINZ, are working within a legislation referring to AMINZ, wish for AMINZ to make an appointment or wish to discuss a possible appointment, please contact us.

Our Appointment Process

Appointments are made under the AMINZ Appointments Policy, in consultation with independent advisors from our Appointments Panel. This panel includes senior members with extensive experience in dispute resolution, who provide expert and independent guidance and recommendations.

We consider the following when making an appointment:

  • The relevant experience and expertise of the proposed appointee.

  • The geographical location of the potential expert to be appointed.

  • The complexity of and, where applicable, the amount in dispute.

  • Any party preferences or objections, while noting the Appointing Officer is not bound by them.

  • Where appropriate and consistent with other criteria, consideration is given to providing a broad range of appointments, including opportunities for suitably qualified newer AMINZ members.
